One of the most popular radio stations in Okene, Kogi central, Tao 101.9 FM Radio Station, was bombed Monday evening.
6 people were reportedly killed from the attack on the privately-run station, which broadcasts mostly in Ebira language.
The attack took place around 8:00 pm when radio programs were ongoing, witnesses say.
The security personnel guarding the station was among the victims.
Sporadic gun shots were first heard before explosive was thrown into the building.
The radio station is known for its radical stance on political analysis.
The chairman of the Board of Directors of the Station, Dr. Tom Adaba and commissioner of information in Kogi state, Hajiya Zainab O. Suleiman confirmed the bombing.
