#BigShame: Zulu King To Call For End Of South African Xenophobic Violence Today

Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini, who reportedly instigated the xenophobic violence in South Africa has agreed to call for an end to the violence which has claimed several lives and displacement of many others.

City Press reports that Zwelithini will on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 call for an imbizo (a traditional forum for discussion) to call for an end to the attacks.

Those expected at the imbizo, which will hold at the Moses  are the province’s traditional rulers and their subjects.

In a related development, South Africa’s President Jacob Zuma has told foreigners that the government does not want them to go. He said the South African government would help those who want to stay return to their communities and would provide transport to those who wanted to go.

He said: “We are not fighting with you as government. Not every South African is saying you must go. It is a small number of people who want you to go. We want us to live as sister and brother.”
