Ribadu’s Ambition In Jeopardy As PDP Senators Defect To APC

Less than three days to the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections, the gubernatorial ambition of the People’s Democratic Party’s candidate, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has suffered a major setback as key stakeholders of his party in Adamawa State have moved in droves to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defectors, alongside thousands of their followers, said their choice of the APC’s candidate was reached after a careful scrutiny identified him as the best candidate for the job, hence their total support of his ambition.

Notable among the PDP juggernauts in the state who ditched their party in support of the APC are Alhaji Sadiq Mohammad (Walin Ganye), former senate leader, Sen Silas Jonathan Zwingina, Sen. Bello Tukur (Sarkin Yakin Adamawa), Sen. Ahmed Barata, Barr Ali Gulak, Gen Aliyu Kama, Mr Zira Maigadi, Mr Yakubu Tsala, and Dr. Idi Hong

“After careful identification of the best in the current circumstances facing the state, we came to the conclusion that Bindow’s victory will pave the way for the desired restoration and positive change for the peace and development of the state,” speaker of the group, Zwingina said.

He explained that following the undemocratic tendencies of the candidate imposed on Adamawa State by the PDP, the serving senators under the party formed an alliance with major stakeholders in the party to rally round the ambition of Senator Muhammad Umar Jibrilla Bindow in other to salvage the state from anti democratic elements.
