An 18-year-old girl has burst into flames and died while she was trying to take a selfie at the roof of a train.
Anna Ursu who hoped to take an ‘ultimate selfie’ accidentally touched an electrical field of a live wire with her leg at the train station in the northern Romanian town of Iasi.
She intended to post the photo on her Facebook wall thereafter but unfortunately, she couldn’t live to see another day.
The accident reportedly sent 27,000 volts through her body which caused her to burst into flames while her friend was sent flying through the air.
Attempts by a passer-by to save Ursu by extinguishing her flaming clothes proved abortive as she later died in hospital with more than 50 percent burns.
Her 17-year-old friend who she went to the train station with is currently recuperating in a hospital.
The passer-by who attempted to save Anna said he knew the dangers and called for the girls to get down when he saw them on top of the train. They failed to hear him, however, and moments later, he heard a bang – and Anna burst into flames.
According to Mail Online, a hospital spokesman said that although the girl hadn’t directly touched the wire, she had come in to contact with its electrical field, which was just as deadly.
Below are some cute selfies of the deceased teenager which she took while she lived. (Click on any image to enlarge).
